Karen Menefee Presents at SSWAG Conference

The School Social Work Association of Georgia (SSWAG) recently held its annual conference from March 27-29, with the theme of "RISE UP! with Resiliency and Professional Efficacy." On March 28, Mitchell County School System’s District MCSS Social Worker Mrs. Karen Menefee and Decatur County District Social Workers Mrs. Tia Williams and Mr. Recarlo Williams delivered a presentation titled "Navigating Rural School Social Work". The focus of the presentation was on how School Social Workers promote cultural diversity and inclusion, connect resources, advocate, and uphold ethical standards for school districts.

Pre-K Registration

Pre-K Registration for 2024-2025

Pre-K registration for the Mitchell County School System began on February 1, 2024. Registration packets can be picked up/completed at Mitchell County Primary School, Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. For any additional information, please contact Cherelle Thomas at (229) 321-7003 ext. 5012.

Required Registration Documents:
• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Copy of Social Security Card
• Immunization Records (Form 3231)
• Ear, Eye, & Dental Records (Form 3300)
• Proof of Residency: (Lease, Mortgage, Utility/Electric Bill, etc.)
**must contain name and address of parent/ legal guardian
• Copy of Benefits Card (SNAP, Medicaid, TANF, PeachCare, SSI, CAPS, etc.)
• If applicable: Notarized Guardianship/ Custody letters

***Your child must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2024
All documents are required before the application can be accepted.
